24-Hour Emergency/Walk-In Services

For children, adolescents or adults experiencing an emotional or psychiatric crisis, emergency services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Emergency walk-in services are handled through the outpatient programs at Westmoreland and Latrobe Hospitals Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and all other times through the emergency department at either hospital.

Mental health professionals evaluate and assess each individual in consultation with a psychiatrist. They devise a plan of intervention that may include an inpatient stay, partial hospitalization, outpatient care and substance abuse evaluation, treatment and referral.
