Excela Health
Dedication to Quality

Quality counts. And one of the ways Excela Health enhances quality and medical excellence is by reporting clinical outcomes so you can make informed decisions about your care, and the care of your loved ones. The following is a brief summary of outcomes for cardiac care at Excela Health.

Since 2005, Excela Health’s cardiothoracic surgeons have performed more procedures than the National Association of Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) standard. Increased volume means exceptional levels of experience across our health care team.

Recent studies show that risk-adjusted operative mortality rates for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) procedures done at Excela Westmoreland are below the Society of Thoracic Surgery standard.

Mortality rates of elective heart surgery from January to June 2008 are at 0 percent.
